F.T ISLAND first broke into Seoul’s music scene as an instrumental band, in a bid to steer clear of being “just another boy band”. The band’s name F.T Island is short for “Five Treasures Island” and with the debut of the song “Lovesick”, which reached the top of the local charts in 2007, the quintet quickly became a household name. The boys were recently made spokespersons for the men’s line of cosmetic brand, Baviphat. The band released their third album “Cross & Change” in July 2009 and members like Lee Hongki and Lee Jae Jin are slated to star in musicals and Korean television dramas like You’re Beautiful and A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
